Description
This Savage Model 99 is chambered in .300 Savage. Date of manufacture is 1953.
This rifle also has the magazine round counter on the left side of the receiver. This gun also appears to be in exceptional condition. We do not see any evidence of a scope or tang sight ever mounted on it. There are no chips, scratches, or gouges found on the stock.
The stock also has had the large hook loop sling studs installed. The bluing throughout the rifle is extremely nice as seen in pictures. Lever retains much of its original case hardening.
While photographing this rifle for posting, we noticed the owner discretely inscribe what appears to be a Social Security Number on the hidden underside of the lever. This cannot be seen while the lever is closed. We also found this number inscribed on the inside of the receiver which cannot be seen unless bolt is open and look at it at the right angle.
