The Mossberg 44 U.S. was a .22 bolt action training rifle for the US military. Later variants, like this 44 U.S. (a), were the same rifle as the 44US with minor changes in sights and extractors..
This 44 US (a) features both a Marbles rear elevator sight and a Mossberg Microclick rear peep sight. Its Mossberg front sight is multi-profile selector sight. Its hood is missing. The rifle comes with a magazine and high quality sling that is in excellent condition. It also has its original quick detachable swivels. The plastic trigger guard is original, in one piece, and with no cracks. Its buttplate is the metal type with no trapdoor. Safety and fire function as they should.
This rifle is in very good condition. It’s birch stock has minimal handling marks with no cracks The rifle’s bluing is in very good condition.
The red safety pin is missing, but can be purchased online from aftermarket companies.
